Are Bloggers Journalist?

On this topic we need to discuss whether bloggers and journalists are the same. After reading the article which our lecture gave, I agree that bloggers and journalist aren't the same. First, let's define what is blogger and what is journalist.

Bloggers vs Journalist

To become a journalist, at least someone need to have professional education and training, responsibility, and skills. Journalist is a job that someone do to get paid. I think that journalist is way formal that bloggers. Journalists have to write based on facts, they can't just write what they want because they have bigger responsibilities. They also have to be objective and report both sides, write properly, and have rules (press rules). Journalists also have more medium than bloggers, they can be on radio, tv, newspaper, magazines, and also online.

Bloggers is a person who blogs. Anybody can be a blogger without special degree or education. Plenty of bloggers just write what they want and sometime they don't think first before they write and what they wrote can be harmful, sensitive topic, or offense some people. Usually bloggers only write from one sides and they are subjective. Some bloggers tend to write based on his view or feeling without know and searching for the truth. And because they don't have special education about journalism, they don't have rules, they just write anything and sometime using bad spelling and grammar. Blogger's medium is just only blog.

Anyway, bloggers and journalists have one thing in common, they deliver information. Whether is fact or fiction, updated or outdated, subjective or objective, we still need them and it's according to us to be selective on those information. I hope that they continue to deliver good values in our lives.
